2014 ORLANDO THEME PARK UPDATES

Universal Orlando

Universal Studios showed us how to save the world with the launch of the awesome thrill ride “Transformers, The Ride 3D.” Universal Orlando never fails to astound, and 2014 is going to be another fabulous year if everything goes as planned. Known for phenomenal and realistic rides, Universal might just surpass what it did in 2009 when it open “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!”

2014 ORLANDO THEME PARK UPDATES

This year “Diagon Alley” will be opening within the Universal Studios Florida theme park, which is adjacent to Universal’s Islands of Adventure theme park, where guests now experience Hogwarts and Hogsmeade. It will feature shops, a restaurant, and attractions based on the Gringotts Bank.

Because both Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios will hold a piece of London, they have decided to join the two parks with the Hogswart Express. The route will travel through backstage areas of the theme parks. Universal has not said what sort of entertainment or technology will be used in the journey, but we are surely in for an amazing ride!! The only way to travel on the Hogswart Express is with a Park to Park ticket.

Walt Disney World

Walt Disney is probably the most family-fun oriented supremacy of all theme parks, so it is only fitting that they get top billing.

Disney has a new ‘vacation management system,” called, MyMagic+. It is a water-proof rubber wristband that has a computer chip in lieu of paper tickets. They will act as park entry, a FastPass, a hotel room key, and a credit card. The Magic Bands make charging, park admission and definitely Fast Pass access much easier.

SeaWorld Orlando

SeaWorld was definitely been on the losing end of the stick in 2013 with the controversial documentary Black Fish. However don’t count them out just yet. For decades SeaWorld has committing themselves to the rescue and rehabilitation of sea animals, and as long as tourists are willing to enjoy the shows and celebrate the wonderful attractions SeaWorld has to offer, they have the ability to come back strong.

  • In 2013 the amazing Antarctica; Empire of the Penguin was opened to the public and the response was astounding! In the upcoming year expect to see Aquatica by SeaWorld to up the competition in the Water Park battle! 105’ is the magic number for “Ihu’s Breakaway Falls.” The ride is named after Ihu, Aquatica’s colorful gecko mascot, whom SeaWorld said “searches for the biggest thrills, steepest hills and the coolest spills in the water park.” It is being touted as the largest water slide “of its kind”. Not sure what that means but, I am very excited to experience it!!

I feel like a kid in a candy shop, living in Orlando! I am wondering what the Theme parks will look like in 10 years? Wowzie!!
