Universal Orlando’s Newest Water Park-Volcano Bay
Wet ‘n Wild Orlando, perhaps America’s first water park when it opened in Florida in 1977, closed on December 31 2017 to make room for the Universal Orlando Volcano Bay. While Wet ‘n Wild was the 10th busiest water park in the world with 1.3 million visitors a year, it became only the fourth busiest in the Orlando area, according to a study by the Themed Entertainment Association.
Volcano Bay is said to be located in picture-perfect tropical islands, formed by a massive volcano – and it haves something for every member of the family. It features radically-innovative attractions, peaceful moments of relaxation and an experience that Universal hopes will change the way guests think about water theme parks.
Volcano Bay shows how Universal Orlando is continuing to evolve at an unprecedented rate that will not slow anytime soon. Since 2010, they have launched more than 18 remarkable experiences including Wizarding World of Harry Potter & Diagon Alley- Escape from Gringotts, across the destination – from new attractions and theme park lands to new on-site hotels and restaurants.
